What a night flight over the Strip involves
A Strip flight is a short loop over the resorts and the lights of Las Vegas Boulevard. The flight itself takes about 10 to 15 minutes. The trip around it takes longer, because you check in, get a safety briefing and wait for boarding. Plan the evening around the whole visit, not only the minutes in the air.
Two points decide most bookings: where the flight starts and how seats are given out. One flight leaves from a terminal on the Strip. The other needs your own transfer to a terminal on Koval Lane. Neither one lets you choose a window seat for certain.

How the time and the seats work
The details that change what you actually get.
Flight time is not trip time
The 10 to 15 minutes cover the flight only. Check-in, the briefing and the wait for your group come on top. If you need a transfer to the terminal, add that as well. Leave a buffer if you have dinner or a show afterward.
Seats go by weight and balance
The pilot team assigns seats at check-in so the helicopter stays balanced. That is why a window seat or the front seat cannot be promised. If the view matters to you, ask about the front seat option, and expect that a confirmed seat can cost extra.
Your own transfer
The Koval Lane terminal is not on the Strip. You arrange a taxi or rideshare yourself, and the cost is separate from the flight. Our getting around guide explains the options.
Cancellation terms
Read the terms before you pay. One flight allows free cancellation up to 72 hours before departure. Do not assume the same for another flight or a bundle.
Choosing between the two
Four questions that settle it for most people.
Start with the transfer. If you stay on the Strip and do not want to arrange a ride to Koval Lane, a flight that leaves from a terminal on the Strip is simpler. Then look at the seat. If the front seat matters to you, the flight with a front-seat request may fit, but it adds $30 per person when confirmed and still carries no guarantee.
Then compare the cancellation terms. Free cancellation up to 72 hours ahead gives you room to change plans. Last, add up the full cost with the transfer, not only the starting price, because the headline fare does not include a taxi to a terminal.
Rules and safety
How helicopter traffic is managed around the city.
In April 2025 the FAA announced closer active control of helicopters at Harry Reid International Airport, with extra traffic advisories after separation problems with aircraft. That is a change in how traffic is managed. It does not ban tourist night flights, and it is not a safety guarantee for any single operator.
Flight altitude and route can differ between flights and operators, so do not book a flight because it promises to pass over one particular building. Follow the briefing at check-in, and ask the operator directly if you have health concerns, a fear of heights or a question about weight limits.

Las Vegas helicopter tour: frequently asked questions
How long is a helicopter flight over the Strip?
The flight time is about 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the flight. Check-in, the briefing and any transfer add to the total time of the trip.
How much does a Las Vegas helicopter tour cost?
The shared Vegas Views flight starts at $139 per person in 2026. The price varies with season, availability and demand. Other flights have their own prices, so compare the total for your date.
Can I choose a window seat?
No. Seats are assigned at check-in by weight and balance, so neither a window seat nor a front seat is guaranteed. One operator takes requests for the front seat and charges $30 per person if it confirms the seat.
Where does the flight leave from?
That depends on the flight. The Vegas Views flight leaves from the Las Vegas Strip Terminal. The Strip Highlights flight leaves from a terminal at 5060 Koval Lane, and you arrange your own transfer.
Is a night helicopter flight safe?
No operator can promise zero risk. The FAA announced closer control of helicopter traffic at the airport in April 2025. Follow the safety briefing, and ask the operator about anything that worries you.
