Four ways to move along the Strip
The Las Vegas Monorail runs on its own track behind the resorts. The Deuce is a bus on Las Vegas Boulevard itself that runs all day and all night. Taxis and rideshare fill the gaps, and walking covers short hops. Most visitors mix all four.
Do not judge distances by the map. Hotel lobbies, escalators, bridges and crowds all add time, and a walk that looks short can take much longer in the heat. Plan the long legs on a train or bus and walk the rest.

The stations, south to north
MGM Grand; Horseshoe/Paris; Flamingo/Caesars Palace; Harrah's/The LINQ; Boingo Station at the Las Vegas Convention Center; Westgate; SAHARA. There is no station at the airport and none on the Fremont Street side.
How passes work
Time passes are personal. The clock starts at your first ride at the gate, not at purchase. A reduced single fare of $1 exists with a matching Nevada ID. Children up to and including age 5 ride free with a paying adult.
Trains and access
Trains run about every 4 to 8 minutes, though delays can happen. Every station has an elevator, and boarding is level from platform to train.
Where the station really is
Entrances are often inside a resort. The Flamingo and Horseshoe entrances are examples. A station called Caesars Palace does not mean the platform sits at the front door of that resort. Count the walk on both ends, not just the ride.
The Deuce and other buses
RTC buses are priced separately from the monorail.
Route and frequency
The Deuce links Fremont Street Experience in Downtown, the Strip, the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign and the South Strip Transit Terminal. It runs 24 hours a day. From 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. buses come about every 10 to 15 minutes, and from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. about every 20 minutes.
Fremont Street guide โFares
The visitor fares for the Strip and all-access buses are $4 for a single ride, $6 for 2 hours, $8 for 24 hours and $20 for 3 days (2026). Children up to age 5 ride free with an adult. A bus pass is not a monorail ticket, and the other way round.
Timetable is not travel time
The interval tells you how often a bus comes, not how long the trip takes. Traffic and roadworks slow the boulevard, especially in the evening. For a short hop between two resorts, walking can be quicker than waiting.
Airport buses
Routes 108 and RED LINE serve the airport from Terminal 1. Details are on the airport page.
Airport to the Strip โRideshare, walking and car trips
Use the marked pickup points and keep to the sidewalk rules.
Rideshare pickup points
The airport and the Sphere have their own pickup points. At Harry Reid International Airport, rideshare is on Level 2 of the Terminal 1 parking garage and at the valet level at Terminal 3. At the Sphere, the zone is at Manhattan Street and Westchester Drive. Do not wait on an arbitrary curb along the boulevard.
Sphere guide โPedestrian bridges
Clark County restricts stopping and standing in marked pedestrian-flow zones. Follow the signs, keep moving and do not block the flow.
Walking in the heat
From June to September the average daily high is about 35 to 40 ยฐC (95 to 105 ยฐF), and nights stay warm. Walk in the cooler parts of the day and plan air-conditioned breaks. The month-by-month figures are on the best-time page.
Best time to visit โDay trips by car
Hoover Dam is roughly 40 to 45 minutes from Las Vegas. The Nevada garage there costs $10. The South Rim of the Grand Canyon is 278 miles (447 km) away via US-93, I-40 and AZ-64, and Grand Canyon West is about 2 hours of driving. Our sister site covers the Grand Canyon tours from Las Vegas if you would rather not drive.

Getting around the Strip: frequently asked questions
Is the monorail worth it?
It helps for long hops along the Strip, between stations such as MGM Grand and SAHARA. A single ride is $6.25, so a pass pays off only if you ride several times a day. The 24-hour pass is $15.50 at the regular fare.
Does the monorail go to the airport?
No. It has seven stations from MGM Grand to SAHARA. There is no airport station and no stop on Fremont Street. For the airport, see the taxi, rideshare and bus options.
How late does the monorail run?
On Mondays it runs from 7 a.m. to midnight. Tuesday to Thursday it runs from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. the next day, and Friday to Sunday from 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. the next day.
Can I use one pass for the monorail and the bus?
No. The monorail is a separate system with its own tickets. An RTC bus pass works on the Strip and other RTC lines but not on the monorail.
Can I walk the whole Strip?
The Strip is about 4.2 miles (6.8 km) long, and detours through hotels and over bridges make the walk longer. Many people walk part of it and ride the rest, especially in summer.
